Officer Involved Shooting Training Courses. Course Description - This 36-hour course provides an introduction to the investigative techniques utilized in officer involved shootings and other use of deadly force incidents. This course is hosted by the Tacoma Police Department.
This training course has proven extremely beneficial for anyone involved in the investigation of an officer-involved shooting to include the patrol officers new and veteran detectives crime scene personnel prosecutors dispatchers and supervisors who will oversee the investigation. This investigation takes a two-faceted approach that includes an investigation of the suspects acts as well as a determination of whether the officers use of force was consistent with the criminal law.
